This is an excellent opportunity for a good researcher to work on an
EU-funded research project (SIGNAL) to develop basic methodologies and
principles of systemic intelligence for artefacts that will be capable
of steadily growing their knowledge through continued experience. The
project involves teams in Bonn, Vienna and Genoa as well as at Napier
University in Edinburgh. The research involves work on novel models of
memory, and working with the other partners to apply evolutionary
computing ideas to study how some kind of systemic intelligence might
`grow up'. More details can be found at
http://www.dcs.napier.ac.uk/~peter/signal-ra.html
You should have, or be about to gain, a PhD in a relevant subject, you
should be familiar with evolutionary computing ideas and should be a
very good programmer in C/C++.
