Cinema Auricular: Cinema of the Ear
-----------------------------------
Cinema Auricular presents screenings in which the sound and image complement
each other on the highest level. It features an international selection of
historic and contemporary works by Bruce Connor, Malcolm Le Grice, Peter
Tscherkassky and others, and also offers a rare UK performance by Phill
Niblock. Composers whose works may be heard on the soundtracks include Edgar
Varèse, Terry Riley, Mick Jagger, The Byrds and Karlheinz Stockhausen,
amongst many others.
The series opens with an informal screening in The Pit ,on the afternoon of
Saturday 13th October. Between the films, Mark Webber of Pulp and Gregory
Kurcewicz will be playing recordings of rare and wonderful electronic music.
