Russian Philosophical Society in collaboration with Russian Academy of
Ecology is now calling for contributions to compose The International Global
Studies Encyclopedia.
This two-volume edition will be published in Russian and English languages
meeting the XXIst World Philosophical Congress "Philosophy Facing World
Problems" - Istanbul, August 10-17, 2003).
The task of the Encyclopedia is to list the phenomena with global
implications - from Atomic energy to World Bank and from Air Pollution to
Xenophobia. We invite the leading Russian and foreign specialists in Global
Studies, representing a variety of disciplines (including, but not limited
to: philosophy, political science, sociology, psychology, demography,
biology, geography, geology, astronomy, nuclear physics, etc.) to contribute
into the Encyclopedia.
We are open to your suggestions about the articles you might contribute. The
minimal length is 0.5 pages, the maximal - 8 pages.
We call the contributors to keep to the following guidelines:
Your contribution should be of analytical nature and demonstrate a strong
author's knowledge of the problem discussed. It should reflect the present
status of the given problem as well as the trends and prospects for a
further scientific research. Practical recommendations are optional (if
applicable).
The contribution should meet the following requirements: accuracy and
durability of data, up-to-date information, reliable sources, validity and
objectivity of the critical remarks, balanced composition, short and concise
descriptions without unnecessary details. All illustrative material, if any,
should be arranged in the form of tables or graphs. The contribution should
reflect the new directions and methods of research, the new fields of
knowledge and their significance as well as their practical applicability.
All doubts and unresolved issues are to be clearly identified by the
contributor.
Every contribution should include:
The headline
The origins of the term if applicable
The article body, including sub-titles, tables, graphs and pictures
Reference list (the most significant works from the contributor's point of
view)
The contributor's name and surname
Russian Philosophical Society reminds that covering all translation and
publication expenses we are unable to provide any honorarium for your
contribution.
The contribution, including your name, degree and contact e-mail (phone

The draft contribution is supposed to be submitted by the end of December
