Adrenaline / Cocaine gel.. lacs up to 3 cm big... the stuff works wonders...
20 mins... the area that is anaesthetised blanches and kaboom... majick...
the area doesn't need any needle infiltration... this stuff replaces the
need for lidocaine... works the majority of the time... and for the rest...
a minimal amount of lidocaine injected... and they don't feel the monoject
needle...
I love it..
John.

Anyone use this for anaesthesia in children? I'm trying to persuade our
pharmacy to stock some and would appreciate any feedback/evidence for its
use.
Thanks
I canīt give you figures Fred, but topical anaesthesia would not help most
of the children I currently suture (using sedation). Most of my work is with
small toddlers, and they donīt understand the concept of local anaesthesia,
so they go berserk when you go near them with needles and stuff!! In my
opinion, topical anaesthesia would only have a useful role in the older
child that you can reason with...
