We have openings for up to six vacancies in
London, Sheffield or Leeds.These posts are
permanent, and each is in one of ten small
teams that design, manage and utilise findings
from social research on social security and
employment policy. The areas covered include
families and lone parents, unemployment, work
incentives and welfare to work, housing and
council tax benefit, disability issues including
benefits, welfare to work issues and monitoring
the Disability Discrimination Act, pensions,
older people, and the European Social Fund.
You should have a first degree in one of the
social sciences with first or upper second-class
honours (where divided) or a higher degree.
Your degree should have a substantial research
methods component.You should also, ideally, have
some knowledge of social policy or you should
have practical experience of social research.
The salary range shown above is dependent
upon qualifications and experience. Starting
salary will normally be in the lower half of the
range. More may be available for an exceptional
candidate.
