This is a long shot. If you are not an Oxford (UK)-based geologist, nor
a geologist who lives in Oxford but works elsewhere, please read no
further.
I recently collected several developed films from Klick Photopoint in
Summertown, Oxford. One of the films is not mine, but by an amazing
coincidence the photographs are clearly taken by a geologist in the
field. They do not belong to any of my colleagues at Brookes, nor have
geologists from Earth Sciences at Oxford University identified the
photos.
I would guess the photos, which show rather arid scenery, are taken in
Turkey (or possibly somewhere further east?). One shows a signpost with
the names Halilbagi (?) and Okcu. Another shows a row of shops with a
hotel "Nasreddin Hoca Oteli" above. Several of the photos show people -
I could send image files to anyone who thinks the photos may be theirs.
It is possible that the owner of these photos may have one of my films,
which probably contains photos of limestone cliffs, reefs etc. in
Mallorca (though I am not 100% sure what is on the
film). If so, I would be very grateful for its return.
Many thanks for your help.
