Here in France, fishermen are used to make some sort of "mud shoe" made out
of a piece of plywood and foot strap. They call it mud skate and they use it
to walk on mudflat. It is very easy to make and it really work. Instead of
walking normally you have to slide on the wet mud a bit like you would do
with skate.
Just try you'll enjoy it.

Hi Mark,
I use Sealion dive booties for mangrove walks (the mangroves here are very,
very slushy with pretty sticky mud). Comes in handy during reef walking,
wading through slush and while SCUBA diving.
Any 5mm neoprene dive booties with a thick sole from a Dive shop could be
used.
Cheers
Sasi
