ASSISTANT LECTURESHIP IN GEOGRAPHY
The Department of Geography, University of Cambridge,
in conjunction with Fitzwilliam College, wishes to make
a fixed-term, three year appointment to an Assistant
Lectureship in contemporary human geography. The
preferred starting date is 1 January 2002, but other
mutually agreeable starting dates can be considered.
Applications from individuals who specialise in urban
or economic geography will be especially welcome.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute
to Departmental lecture courses in contemporary human
geography and, in addition, to undertake six hours of
supervision teaching per week for Fitzwilliam College
during term time. Other duties may include contribution to
the Direction of Studies in Geography at Fitzwilliam
College.
The appointment will be associated with a Fellowship at
Fitzwilliam College. This entails membership of the
Governing Body and the privileges and responsibilities
associated therewith.
Initial appointment will be on the University’s Assistant
Lectureship scale (currently £17,775 at age 26 to
£23,256 at age 32). Further particulars may be obtained
