We find repeating elements quite useful when it comes to ordering/sequencing
them for display using XSLT.
For example, when providing contextual documentation such as clips, stills
or reviews of moving image titles using DC.Relation.IsReferencedBy, we can
vary the sequence in on-line displays of the metadata in a way that is
independent of the sequence in which they were entered into the record. This
is particularly useful for DC.Relation.HasParts).
This also allows us to give weighting to elements such as DC.Creator (when
there are two or more creators) by being able to list them in order of
importance. As I recall, the need to give weighting to elements was a
subject of discussion at DC2000.
