Apologies if this is not of interest

The London Union Research Network and the Local Economic Policy Unit are
holding a conference at the TUC on Wednesday 31 October 2001 to discuss
community unionism.
Unions and community-based groups have forged coalitions around common
goals in the US and Australia - and we are seeing similar new developments
in the UK.
This conference aims to explore the common ground between unions and
community-based groups in the UK. It will look at current experience - with
speakers from TELCO's Living Wage Campaign, Battersea and Wandsworth TUC's
Organising Centre and trade union education. Hiliary Wainwright will
provide some historical perspective.
The second part of the day will then look at contemporary policy
opportunities for working together to fight racism, get involved in issues
of regeneration and tackling social exclusion.
All are welcome to attend, flyer and booking form attached.
Please pass this on to all those who might be interested.
Many thanks and look forward to seeing you there.
