CGF members,
We are now starting to get reports on the xenophobic reaction in Canada to
the terrorist attacks in the USA.
The police in Canada's capitol city, Ottawa, have stated that (reported)
hate crimes against visible minorities have _doubled_ since the terrorist
attacks in the USA.
The Right in Canada (here badly represented by the Canadian Alliance Party)
have been calling for 'extreme' (their words) measures to tighten 'Canada's
security'. Many of their proposals contravene the Canadian Charter of
Rights and Freedoms, as well as numerous UN Charters on the rights of
refugees and immigrants.
Are people getting similar reports in other countries?
