I'd like to echo Sarah's thanks to the organisers, and add a few
slightly more critical comments based on the day I attended.
1. I was slightly suprised that there were not more people there.
Given that this was the major Critical Geography event in the UK this
year, there were plenty of faces missing (probably for very good
reasons) and numbers were quite low - or maybe I am just
overestimating the size of the CG community.
2. While there were some superb papers and sessions, particularly the
last session on Thursday which was as good a series of presentations
as I have ever experienced at any conference, there were other
frankly lazy and unfocussed presentations that appeared to have been
written on the back of an envelope on the train to Newcastle. I would
have been more annoyed by this if I had come a long way to hear them.
But all in all, a welcome and well-organised event - thanks Duncan
and Rob and all the others who contributed.
In the usual spirit of CGF,
David.
