At the SPRC we are carrying out some research looking at how far and in what
ways income support recipients of workforce age are also participating in
various forms of social and economic activity. These include paid work,
study (formal and informal), training and job search, but also volunteering,
caring, community activities etc.
Can anyone point me towards studies, based on either survey data or
qualitative interviews, which have looked at this question in other
countries, particularly (but not only) the UK?
