Dear list member
The Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP) has recently begun research
(commissioned by the Dept for Education and Skills/Department for Work and
Pensions) to explore the effectiveness of in-work support programmes for
long term unemployed people (and other returners to the labour market) in
OECD countries. The research involves identifying different types or
programmes of in-work support (eg, financial support, mediation, mentoring,
work placements/trials, support for employer etc), and the effectiveness on
employment retention.
So far, we have covered the UK, US and Canada. We are now extending the
review to other OECD countries.
Do list members know of any such programmes that we could include? We are
also interested in those that may not have been fully evaluated, perhaps
small scale/local projects, or those focused on specific client groups.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Karen
