You can also use a system that allows direct annotating of audio and or
video sources without transcription, e.g. C-I-SAID from Alan Cartwright
or the new HyperResearch 2.5 version.
AFAIK also other software vendors plan to add video annotation
facilities althoug I must admit that I am currently not up to date
(http://www.intext.de/textanae.htm).
