To all:
I have enjoyed this thread of arguments and discussions. I think the DPT is
here to stay, whether we are against it or for it. We can argue for years on
whether it is a good progression or not. Perhaps (and this is only a
suggestion) we could turn our attention on how best to train future DPT
graduates, on how DPT will fit in the entire medical system as suggested by
some, and on monitoring how DPT graduates are doing in the community now.
From what I have heard on several forums, DPT graduates from the USA do not
fair any better than MPT graduates, and are not paid better salaries in
their first year of practice. What are our American PT's seeing of DPT
graduates in the real world?? Do they fit our expectations or the public's
demands?? It would be interesting to hear some views regarding this topic.
