I don't like giving advice on a topic like this but/..
You'll need to spend a lot more than you would on a good
Single Lens Reflex.
It can be done but you're looking at at least 250 pounds for
one with a built in zoom and macro lens (which are
essential).
Or, buy a 35mm film scanner instead and an SLR to take the
pictures.
A film scanner costs about 120 pounds and SOME can also take
microfilm.
However, my own 35 mm scanner requires really good
quality colour negatives but is OK with black and white
images.
If you use black and white film you can develop
the pictures yourself.
