Not my area really, so I'm reluctant to offer an answer.
I'm fairly certain that underage sex and incest must have
been common in the past. In large families where teenage
brothers and sisters shared the same bed it's hard to
believe otherwise.
In this case, I think you may need to think about the social
class of the person. Obviously I don't know where your
interests lie but for you to quote an account suggests that
you might be looking at someone from a middle- or upper-clas
background rather than an ordinary ag. lab.
I suspect mores varied widely by social class but then even
Elizabeth I is said to have been sexually abused by her
stepfather and Lady Jane Grey was married at 13 or 14 (I
think).
