You may not be able to take the pictures you want with a digital camera.
The copyright position with regard to digital images is different than that
of photographs. I have been unable to photograph maps in my local library
and have had to photocopy them instead despite the fact that a digiphoto
would have been easier and risked less damage than the copier.
Film is probably better than a digicamera for any serious work, especially
anything involving zoom lenses unless you want to spend thousands of
pounds - but I am impatient so tend to use the digicam as a notebook. I
spent far more than I should have on a digital Ixus because of the feel of
the camera in my hands.
