This is just a note to let colleagues know that there are just a few
spaces left for the Developments in Economics and Business Education
(DEBE) conference. Full details of the conference, the programme and
the venue are available on the conference Web site:
http://www.economics.ltsn.ac.uk/debe/
There is also an online booking facility there.
The conference promises to be an excellent one with keynote speeches
from Evan Davis (BBC Newsnight), Peter Day (BBC Economics and Business
correspondent), Paul Ormerod, Bill Goffe and Bob Parkes from the USA
(perhaps the foremost Web gurus on Economics and Business).
There is also a wide variety of paper sessions, discussion sessions and
hands-on computer workshops. The conference dinner takes place in a
local science centre (with a chance to play on all the toys!) and will
be addressed after dinner by Lewis Elton (father of Ben and professor
of Education at UCL).
The days are themed so it is possible to come for either or both days.
The emphasis on the first day is on teaching and learning and on the
second day on the use of ICT in economics and business education.
The conference is jointly organised by Biz/ed and the LTSN Economics
centre (http://www.bized.ac.uk and http://www.economics.ltsn.ac.uk) and
is designed as a practical hand-on conference to support all those
involved in Economics and Business education.
We hope you'll be able to join us.
