> Just as we have a duty to report dodgy docs, we must surely tackle these
er, undertrained gentlemen, surely? Can we disuade event organisers from
using them? My understanding is that they have not fallen foul of any law or
regulation and there is no body to whom we can report our concerns. Am I
correct? <
When an event seeks a licence from the Local Authority, the statutory
ambulance service has a voice. I would suggest that you speak to, and provide
the evidence for, the Emergency Planning Officer for the Ambulance Service
about your concerns and ask him/her to object to the issue of the licence
unless the concerns have been addressed. The Local Authority, in my
experience, listens most carefully to public safety concerns. They will,
after all, be in the firing line in the event of inadequate provision of care
under the Green or Purple Guide.
