Craig - I can't shed any light on your problem I'm afraid but can
sympathise with you
I am looking at working in Canada, I am a GP of some years standing, I
am a GP trainer, run a practice that scores highly on all audits and is
at the cutting edge of IT use, I have many clinical interests etc etc
To go to Canada I have to sit their medical student finals - but before
I am allowed to do this I have to sit an 'Evaluating Exam' - if I pass
all of these then I have to work in an 'under serviced' area for 5 years
(but if I take the GP post grad qualification when there then the 5
years may be relaxed)
This is expensive and time consuming
Having said that, studying for 'finals' again is quite interesting at
times
Isn't it time that we sorted out these international blockades withing
our international profession
Canada is desperately short of doctors - but the hoops remain
Cheers
