junior charge nurse and junior sister are the terms used in some places for
the F grade sisters and charge nurses rather than the G or h grades
it's like staff nurse for d grades and senior staff nurse for e grades,
one of the wonderful pointless titles of the NHS
it's like refering to third year student nurses as 'seniors' as some of
thelecturers an older nurses do

Subject: Re: Journals
Certainly Annals of Emergency Medicine is viewed as the top North American
journal; it is, after all, ACEP's official EM publication. Another useful
resource, though not a journal, is the Year Book of Emergency Medicine
published (annually!) by Mosby. This effectively distils the best papers
from around 100 journals into concentrated treatises organised around
various topics; the papers are neatly summarised together with an overview
of the subject written by an independent "expert". I'm not sure if it's
available on-line, but it would be worth exploring as the Year Books
themselves are very expensive!
By the way, what is a junior charge nurse? I've not heard of that one
before, seems like a rather contradictory term...if I were you I'd complain
bitterly to my "senior" colleagues!!

Subject: Journals
Dear All,
What journals/periodicals do members of acad-ae-med have a
subscription or particulary enjoy reading? I have internet access to some
texts such NEJM, Lancet and EM and Annals of EM. Does anyone have thoughts
on Emergency Medicine Clinics of North America? Any suggestions would be
appreciated?
