More unwanted free information. People in Co. Durham (particularly
the Tees end of the county) will probably know all about it -- sorry.
The Victoria County History for Durham has a website:
http://www.durhampast.net/
As with many websites, a lot of the electronic space is devoted to
telling you about the venture, and what they hope to do. So far, so
usual. However, the Darlington volume is trundling along nicely, and
they have put some of the text on the website. If you click on
"The Darlington Project",
and then on "here" in
"Newly produced sections of the history of Darlington are now
available in draft, and can be read here"
you can read what they've got so far, with little photos which you
can click on for full-screen enlargements.
