The Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research requires a suitably qualified researcher in
housing or law. You will have a good first degree in a relevant social science discipline or law
and should have experience of recent research work. Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative
research methods is important to the job, whilst an awareness of the English legal system and the
impact of law on wider social issues is essential. A knowledge of housing policy is also desirable.
A good communicator, you will need to be able to write in a clear and accessible manner for both
academic and policy audiences. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is also
essential.
You will play a crucial role in developing the research base in housing law in CRESR and will be
expected to contribute to the development of research bids. There may also be opportunities to
develop research work into training packages for housing and other organisations and be involved in
the delivery of these.
