Hi Wendy and others,
I am sorry I have taken so long to reply to your message. Our metadata
guidelines are at:
http://www.healthinsite.gov.au/metadata.cfm
I think that you would be better to use a specialist thesaurus rather than LCSH,
to get terminology which is better tailored to your clients. I do not know if
there is a British disabilities thesaurus.

Subject: Establishing guidelines for using DC
Dear colleagues
The National Library for the Blind is in the process of establishing a set
of guidelines for staff creating DC, to cover mandatory fields, content
format and style etc. Has your organisation undergone a similar process?
Would you be willing to share your documentation?
NLB are also deliberating over the use of subject schemes. Are standard
schemes such as LCSH preferable to keywords, or are both valuable? Any
advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Wendy Hall
