Kevin, you have just the most extraordinary sense of humor. Great. Yes,
you use your erector spinae when you chew, obviously...You feel the
importance of these co-contractions and associated contractions when you work
with spinal injured patients. It is a very good way to learn about the
necessity to have the integrity of all your muscles to achieve functional
activity. Yes, yes. No, I do not believe in sitting somebody on a chair to
train the lower extremity muscles. It is deeply dys-functional. You train
them when you get them to perform adequately resisted functional movements
and inducing proprioceptive challenges. My first encounter with the notion
of global was when I trained my first foot ball player "by the book" and (I
had just graduated) I realised that his involved knee was not able to resist
a lateral strong push...Actually, he went back to the facility after the
first game, worse than ever. I reviewed my concepts...fast..Quad and
hamstrings in a saggital plane...give me a break. But this is ancient
history, it was more than 30 years ago. Now everybody knows that if a
butterfly....Have a great day. Anne-Marie
