my initial training was in such an institution, the learning that took place
there for me was far greater than any academic institution, why, cos I was
given time, it was experiential, we were taken up in identifying key skills,
(for gods sake!).
Of course there was criteria to be met, lots of theory to be learned, but it
was not so pressurised. It was a full cost course, (still no where near as
expensive as current psychotherapy courses) but that was not an issue as the
learning far outweighed whether I could get a grant and so on..........
I sometimes wonder whether the traditional learning environment is the best
place for counsellor training, not knocking what you do Paul, but interested
in your comments on that
