Dear Diana
What seems really important to me is that your daughter is in charge of how
this is responded to. The task she has been given seems to me to be
aggressive - intruding on her boundaries. How can she learn to respond
powerfully to aggression? There seem to be a lot of alternatives, ranging
from writing the essay and putting in what she chooses to - she could
pretend to be an imaginary person - to getting you to take the matter up
with the school. What does she want?
If she does not want you to be involved and you have concerns about the
teacher what can you do that would not identify her as being involved?
Could you get someone else to have a quite word with the head teacher, for
instance?
Best wishes
John
