The Department of Germanic Studies, University of Sheffield, is able to
offer from Autumn 2001:
One fully-funded 3-year Postgraduate Scholarship for PhD Research in
Germanic Studies;
One Graduate Teaching Assistantship (German Native Speaker), for Research in
Germanic Studies combined with part-time teaching as a Lektor/in. Fully
funded for one year in the first instance;
Several fees-only Scholarships for Research in Germanic Studies.
Applications are invited for these scholarships in any area of Germanic
Studies for which the Department can provide expert supervision. These areas
include: German 19th and 20th century literature, history of ideas,
linguistics, philology, politics, modern history, film studies; modern Dutch
