Hi again,
I was just writing about the change in credit card use in the last 20
years and how the customer base has widened. This has led to a
shift in advertising etc.
I was thinking about how the image of credit cards has changed. I
remember credit cards years ago being aimed at the 'Jerry and
Margot' (Good Life ref for those who are frowning) - businessman
with wife who frequents Harrods. Now they are being pitched at a
younger audeince (eg recent American Express campaign) - they
have become much cooler and much more 'normal'. Even students
have them. Probably as a response to changes in shopping habits.
Does anyone else have a thought on this - I am not sure whether
this is just my perception or whether things havent really changed
at all!
