CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
CSCL (Computer Support for Collaborative Learning) 2002 is an international
conference to be held near Boulder, Colorado, USA, on January 7-11, 2002.
CSCL 2002 will explore opportunities for computer and Internet technology to
support collaborative forms of learning and teaching. The theme this year
focuses on strengthening the foundations for the field of CSCL: theory,
technology, evaluation and community building.
The CSCL conference is a major event that brings together people involved in
all aspects of the field of CSCL, including research, education, training
and technology. The conference will be highly interactive, with
opportunities for people with different interests, backgrounds and
specialties to learn, share and collaborate. There will be featured
presentations, research papers with discussion, poster sessions, tutorials
introducing special topics, workshops exploring specialties, demos of
commercial and experimental technologies, a doctoral consortium and other
interactive events.

SUBMISSIONS & PRESENTATION FORMATS
Submissions of ideas for a tutorial, workshop, interactive event, technology
demo or for the teacher participation panel or the doctoral consortium
should be discussed with the Chairs of those categories prior to submission.
All submissions should follow these procedures

1. Download the Word template at this Internet address:

2. Format your document according to the instructions in the template.
3. Please be sure that your document is not more than 10 pages long.
4. Save your document as a Word document or an RTF file.
5. Save your document with the last name of the paper's first author.
6. Go to the CSCL 2002 Paper Submission site at this Internet address:
http://koforidua.cs.colorado.edu/cscl02/submit.html
7. Fill out the requested information - including an Abstract for your
submission and a Password of your choice. You will be able to revise your
abstract until the deadline for submissions. You will then be given an ID -
please make a note of this ID where you will not lose it.
8. Go back to the CSCL 2002 Paper Submission site using the ID you were
given and the Password you defined in the previous step. Submit your saved
document. The submission site will help you to locate your document on your
local computer. You will be able to submit a different version of your
document until the deadline for submissions.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Program Committee of the
conference. All accepted submissions will be considered peer-reviewed
papers, regardless of their presentation format. The Program Committee will
take into account your preference for presentation format and will weigh
this against other factors in planning the conference program. If your
submission is selected for the conference, it will be assigned to a
presentation time and format in the conference program. We will then ask you
to revise your document in response to reviewer comments.
