The Centre for Research in Social Policy, one of the country's most
influential policy research centres, is seeking to appoint up to three
researchers. The Centre undertakes research in the inter-related fields of
employment, family policy, poverty and social exclusion, social security
and welfare services.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE/FELLOW (SS/220)
£16,775 - £30,967 per annum
In the first instance you will be responsible for managing part of the
evaluation of the Education Maintenance Allowance that CRSP is undertaking
for the DfEE. You will have a post-graduate qualification, experience of
managing research and knowledge of current education policy initiatives.
You should also have knowledge and experience of qualitative research
techniques and of statistical analysis. Salary will be on the Research
scale 1A/2 depending on qualifications and experience.
RESEARCH ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE 2 POSTS (SS/219)
£16,775 - £25,213 per annum
You will have a post-graduate qualification or relevant experience and
knowledge and experience of statistical analysis and data handling and/or
qualitative research techniques. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, good oral and
written communication skills and the ability to work in a team are more
important than detailed knowledge of social policy issues. A good Honours
degree in a relevant subject is also required. Salary will be on the
Research scale 1B/1A depending on qualifications and experience.
