----------------------------------------------------------
The Department of Politics at the University of Exeter is reviving its
MA in Political Theory and is currently accepting applications for the
2001/2002 academic year. The MA is being restructured in a way
which will sustain the department's traditional strengths in Anglo-
American political theory and the history of political thought, while
integrating the research specialisms of younger appointees who are
interested in Continental philosophy, new social movements, gender
politics, multiculturalism, new international relations theory and new
conceptualisations of the political.
The new MA is designed to allow students the opportunity to
strategically analyse the impact of globalisation and the emerging
information age economy on theoretical questions about democracy,
justice and pluralism. In addition to core courses in Anglo-American
and Continental thought and global democracy, students on this course
may choose from modules covering a wide range of subjects, such as
contemporary international relations theory, ancient ethics, theories
of history and cultural and epistemological theory.
