Actually, that is quite common in the pediatric population (children with
CNS dysfunction), the general concensus is that the lack of movement caused
by the motor dysfunction actually causes the constipation, as movement
helps to move stuff through the intestines (muscle massage and general
movement). Think of how you feel when you get off an airplane after a long
trip spent sitting down...
