I recently noticed a new feature of the Netscan system which renders
boxplots (treemaps) visualisations of chunks of USENET. See
http://netscan.research.microsoft.com/
It is a neat tool and well worth trying out. (Note, you need to use
Internet Explorer 5.5 for it to work.)
Netscan is an ongoing project at Microsoft Research, directed by Marc
Smith, analysing and visualising social cyberspace. Further details on
