New THINK NET Debate - 'Highlands Health into the Future' - discussion forum
for the Highlands of Scotland - (http://www.think-net.org).
Delighted to inform you of the latest developments to our site and a new
topic of debate 'Highlands Health into the Future' for THINK NET
(http://www.think-net.org).
Highland Health is our latest topic, we are seeking comment from individuals
prior to an official debate launch, immediately after the general election.
Over the next few months we’ll be running a discussion on Highland Health
issues, with a series of papers from different authors. Health is a subject
that affects everybody, and we’re looking forward to opening up a lively
debate. We’ll look forward to contributions from the Highlands and around
Scotland, but also from every area where there’s an interest in joining the
discussion. Some of our problems may be shared with the rest of the world,
and other problems may be shared with other peripheral sparsely populated
regions - we look forward to having input from all places and all sectors.
As all the opinion polls confirm, health is a major national issue at any
time. There is often agreement on what the problems are, but much less
unanimity as to what the solutions may be. Here in the Highlands of
Scotland, aspects of geography add a further dimension to the more general
problems that are shared with other areas.
Highland Health Board want to open up a discussion on the whole subject of
Highland Health, and ask through Think-Net the question - what sort of
health provision do you want to see in the Highlands by the year 2020? We
have an initial paper by the Health Board’s Communications Manager,
outlining some of the general issues, and we’d like your comment now. At
intervals over the next six months we’ll be bringing in at least another six
papers on specific aspects of the subject.
We look forward to your contributions be they on general or specific issues.
Now is your chance to tell us what you think and network with others
interested in the Health of the Highlands or regions with similar
characteristics.
Regards
John
