Brian
I am well aware of Dr Richardson and others research around benefits of
essential fatty acids in treatments for SpLd's and ASD's and Mental
Distress, including schizophrenia.
This research is very enlightening, I myself take essential fatty acids as a
supplement and I have experienced beneficial effects.
I also try and to restrict my diet, due to me have gluten/casien and yeast
intolerance, but I find it very difficult knowing what to eat. I sometimes
starve myself, especially if I go-out, because I have become obsessed around
the foods/drinks I put into my body.
It is well known that many individuals have a problems with metabolism of
proteins with gluten and casien, in which means that individuals have excess
opiates in the bloodstream and also this means many individuals with ASD's
and SpLd's will have an intolerance to gluten/casien, in which may causes
them to develop 'leaky-gut' and develop gastro-entiological problems.
As I said, I myself take essential fatty acids, but the cost for eye-q
supplement is £7.99 for 60 capsules, in which only last 10 days at 6
capsules per day. If you are on a low- income or disability benefits then
you may struggle to buy these supplements.
In the UK you can get gluten/casien free products on prescription, but you
have to have the diagnosis from a gastroentiologist with 'celiacs desease'.
Many individuals with ASD's and SpLd's will have undiagnosed celiacs
desease' in the U.K. Research shows a co-morbidity between ASD's/SpLd's and
celiacs desease.
It In well researched that all the food chain is poisoned by pesticides and
other chemicals. It is well known around the mercury levels in fish.
What do we eat and drink ?
I would like to go onto an organic vegan diet, but this is difficult,
especially with me being intolerant to wheat and dairy products. It is well
researched that a vegan diet is the most healthy diet.
I believe that food should be seen as a human rights issue because for
nearly 75 years the state have been in control of what the individual is
consuming and in-taken into their bodies.
We need that have information which is impartial and not controlled by the
state and the multi-national food industries, including the farmers.
It is well known that the food chain is being flooded with gluten/casien
which is drugging Society. If gluten/ and dairy products(casien are causing
some individuals to experience mental distress and ASD's and SpLd's, then as
a public-health issue should we not be informed ?
The state has a moral and ethical role to play around increasing the publics
awareness of what we are consuming into our bodies. This is a fundamental
human rights issue Each individual has the right to be given impartial
information around food and drinks. Also individuals should not be
financially-excluded and discriminated against in having an informed choice
to buy any food/drink products which is not going to cause them any harm.
At this present time organic and non-gluten/casien products are more
expensive, in which socially and financially excludes many individuals from
having a choice to buy these food/drink products which is not going to
effect the physical and mental health.
The needs to be an equilibrium between gluten/casien
and yeast free products and other food/drinks products which are cheaper
and flooding the food chain in the supermarkets.
As I said this is a fundamental human rights issue and needs addressing by
the Government in the United Kingdom and also overseas Governments,
especially in the USA where most of the food is produced which we consume in
the U.K and Europe and the rest of the World.
