Thanks for passing on this sad news. Likewise I am ashamed of Australia's
policies. I wrote to Philip Ruddock, expressing my concern about his
policies and in particular about this case. i had a letter from his
Parliamentary Secretary in reply which attempted to say how humane and just
the imjmigration policies are and that there is no specific category such as
people with disabilities who get excluded from immigration, as all are dealt
with equally under health criteria. In view of the long-term bi-partisan
policies in this area could this be an occasion where your - or another-
group can perhaps take on a leading role in setting up an ongoing initiative
to address this disgusting situation?
