Well I know how I'd do it --
I'd use RDF metadata in the HEAD of the document with an rdf:about attribute
containing the URI of the object involved. You can repeat the
rdf:Description element for each media object in the page. So it'd look
something like this:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">
<head>
<rdf:RDF>
<rdf:Description rdf:about="mediafile.ext"
dc:creator="Joe Smith"
dc:title="Movie of Whiteboard"
dc:description="A short movie of people scribbling things on a
whiteboard."
dc:date="1999-09-10" />
</rdf:RDF>
</head>
...
</html>
Hope this helps,
