I have mentioned several times on the list that the current spec seems to
include too much non-normative information (introductions to RDF, RDF
Schema, etc.) which would best be taken out and put into a separate
document. I'd like the official spec to be as short as possible, containing
only the information needed by RDF developers to get started with Dublin
Core.
I'd be willing to assist the editors of the spec with this, as well as
taking a careful look at the wording of the document to ensure it is clear.
Also, there seems to be a dependency on the namespace proposal. I believe it
would be best to agree on namespaces before we publish the DC-in-RDF spec.
Finally, I'd like to suggest once again that this group work on coming up
with a (reasonably) formal specification for elements and qualifiers that
can be followed by those within DCMI as well as those outside it. The
previously mentioned MusicBrainz.org is already working on its own metadata
initiative for music, and a specification of terms would be very useful to
these groups.
Thanks,
