PhD Research Fellowship

Start Date: 1 Oct 2001
This fellowship involves the study of the impacts of global agricultural
trade policy on the livelihoods of small farmers in developing countries,
combining academic research with creative applied research linkages with
Northern and Southern NGOs. The research fellow will be registered for a
postgraduate degree in the Department of Geography and will undertake
overseas fieldwork through the International Famine Centre.
The fellowship award includes financial support in the range £6,000 to
£9,500 per annum, plus associated fees, research and travel costs.
Candidates will have a strong first degree, and preferably a masters, in an
appropriate social science discipline. Overseas experience is an asset.
