Dear Kevin
I know that the grades to get into physiotherapy are very high. And also
that in the 2000 entry there were 16 or so applicants to every place, the
highest ratio of ALL subjects, above law (around 14:1) and medicine (10:1 or
so).
However, this really wasnt my point. I was highlighting a motion to be
bought up at the CSP's (UK national physio body) national conference, and
trying to stimulate some discussion around it. Although just a green
student, I have heard many physio's lament about their uniform. Obviously it
was a skewed straw poll.
I was also attempting some vague psycho-social interjection. Does perceived
position / power of clinician affect treatment outcome? Im sure Ive seen
studies pertaining to this.
And therefore, if there is a way we can manipulate this, can we alter
treatment outcomes positively? Or is this too close to the placebo effect to
be comfortable?
Regards
Ben
