Lecturer in Philosophy
(Temporary two year post)
You will have broadly based areas of competence, sufficient for
undergraduate teaching in both standard history of philosophy and
twentieth century philosophy of the Anglo-American school. While
preference may be given to candidates with interests in the area of
philosophy of mind/language/metaphysics, those with other specialisms
should not be discouraged from applying. Please contact the Head of

You will be required to contribute to the production and maintenance
of courses within the Philosophy Department and, more broadly,
within the Faculty of Arts; you will also be expected to contribute to
the maintenance of the Department’s research rating. This post is
based in Milton Keynes. It is being established for two years in the first
instance with a possibility of renewal for a further two and is
available from September 2001.
Appointment will be on Academic salary scale: £18,731 - £23,256
(under review) or £24,227 - £30,967 per annum, (under review)
according to academic attainment and experience.
