medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Dear colleagues, particularly art historians...
I have begun to examine a recently uncovered wall painting in Tuscany, and
there is no obvious way for me to date it. The only thing I can think of is
that perhaps the clothes worn by some female figures might be typical of a
particular time period. Can anyone suggest a reference work that might be
useful in dating this?
Of course, I am sure that it is a medieval painting, but I do not possess
the experience or expertise to go beyond this most approximative statement!
Best wishes,
George Ferzoco
