Dear all
As some of you may know, the Library of the London School of Economics and
Political Science is currently moving back to its permanent home at Lionel
Robbins Building, 10 Portugal Street. The Library has been operating from a
temporary base nearby at 25 Southampton Buildings, while its permanent home
is redeveloped by architects Foster and Partners.
Staffed Library services are available from both 25 Southampton Buildings
and the Lionel Robbins Building for the duration of the move back - expected
to be complete by end May 2001.
The EDC collection is scheduled to move towards the end of April -the dates
are yet to be confirmed.
Library materials are unavailable only while in transit - a period of
between one and three days and the latest daily updated information is
available at www.library.lse.ac.uk/newlibrary .This will show the current
location of Library stock so that users can go to the right building; parts
of the collection actually in transit; and the stock next to be moved.
From Thursday 19 April the main Library service will be available from the
Lionel Robbins Building, and this includes Admissions; enquiry services
(including EDC enquiries) and electronic information sources. For anyone
referring users to us for EC materials it may be advisable to telephone
first to check the availability and location of material if it is within the
next 2/3 weeks.
(Please note that we are closed over the Easter period, Thursday 12 April to
Wednesday 18 April inclusive).
Any questions, please just telephone me on 020 7955 7242.
Regards and Happy Easter!
Maria
