So am I understanding this correctly?
Unitisation is the bulk packaging of a product for despatch from one member
of the chain of distribution (normally the manufacturer)to the next
(probably a wholesaler or retailer).
Its special features are not only that goods are packaged in multiples but
also that the external packaging is robust, designed to withstand a range
of conditions and rough handling.
Is that it?
