LTSN Archaeology, a part of the national Subject Centre for History,
Classics & Archaeology, is holding three one-day national fora at the
University of Leicester on aspects of teaching archaeology in UK HE:
Using & Assessing Group Work in Classics & Archaeology (May 2nd, 2001)
Teaching Fieldwork in Archaeology (May 16th, 2001)
Problem-based Learning/Teaching with Artefacts ( May 31st, 2001)
The fora are designed to be an opportunity for lecturers to exchange
information on how pivotal aspects of archaeology are being taught in HEIs
across the UK and to discuss recent developments.
Presentations will be made by practicing archaeology lecturers teaching in
these areas in UK HE and are mostly in case study format reflecting an
active application of teaching and learning methodology. There will be
ten-minute discussion periods following each presentation and each session
of related papers will end with a general discussion moderated by a
convenor.
The events are FREE and will be of value to staff engaged in curriculum
development in these areas, particularly module/programme co-ordinators.
To book a place email: [log in to unmask] with your name, institution
