The University of Aberdeen is part of an EPSRC-funded Interdisciplinary
Research Collaboration (IRC) in Advanced Knowledge Technologies. In
support of this, the University has established a Research Centre to
undertake externally funded R&D in Knowledge Technologies and draw upon
activities of existing academic staff of the Department of Computing
Science & the Industrial Psychology group. The Manager will be
responsible for acquiring and managing further R&D/research contracts,
and for the day-to-day running of the Centre. He/she will be line
manager for the Centre's contract research staff. The appointee will
be a graduate in Computer Science, Psychology, Engineering, or a
related discipline and will have some managerial experience as well as
experience of academic/industrial research. Ideally he/she will have a
research degree and some management training.
