Good morning Philip
There seems to be often a perception, expressed on this list, that those who
study disability and are disabled are "disability" and can speak for all. I
have railed against this view in the past and am happy to do so again. The
list and what it represents is only a single, small facet of disability and
disability activism and to believe otherwize has an arrogance about it not
dissimilar to that of the inquisition. It seems prudent to me to preface all
opinion with "I believe that ..." to avoid the monumental error that much
questionable dogma is based on: "It is so because I believe it to be so".
Have a wonderful Easter, rgds John
